Why I’m Built for Business Coaching & Consulting

I’ve walked the walk. I’ve built, run, and led a successful business from the ground up — with my own money, family, and reputation on the line. I’ve made the hard calls, navigated complex growth, managed real risk, hired and fired, delegated, protected culture, and lived through every stage — from startup chaos to sustainability.

I’ve also studied it deeply and coached others through it. I’ve worked with real-life, small business owners across the country, helping them make better decisions, simplify complexity, and getting them out of their own way.

I bring all of that into my coaching:

  • Practical, fast, clear advice — not vague theory
  • Deep understanding of business and emotional life
  • Real partnership with honest, grounded guidance
  • Ability to challenge your thinking without disrespecting your effort
Small Business Coaching, Ernie Schmidt

I’m also a trained Cognitive Behavioral Therapist & Licensed Clinical Social Worker- I understand the emotional side of ownership — fear, burnout, isolation, over-responsibility — and I know how to help you move through it. I care deeply, I think & work hard, and I go all in with the people I work with.

This isn’t just business coaching. It’s honest partnership from someone who’s been there — and is still in it.

“Ernie Schmidt is encyclopedic on anything having to do with business development. He’s as sharp as a knife at dissecting any place where the marketing process or the operational process might be breaking down or cramping growth…” Dan Quinn, PsyD
